The Garmin GHP Compact Reattor Hydraulic Autopilot Starter Pack includes GHP Reactor CCU, ECU, pump and other autopilot components needed to add to compatible chartplotter. Ideal for single engine outboard boats up to 9 metres (30 feet) in length and features solid-state 9-axis Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) to minimise heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption, while providing a comfortable ride.
Designed for boats up to 9 metres (30 feet), the GHP Compact Reactor Hydraulic Autopilot provides relief from manually holding the wheel to maintain course. The advanced solid-state 9-axis AHRS, the GHP Compact Reactor provides more flexible mounting options, in addition, it greatly minimises heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption, while providing a comfortable ride.
This compact Garmin autopilot is designed to react to varying sea conditions and comfortably hold the vessels course. Even when the boat is pitching and rolling the GHP Compact Reactor autopilot will keep the vessel on the desired course.
Although all autopilots require commissioning and calibration to work properly Garmin has made this process as fast and easy as possible. Combined with compatible Garmin networked electronics, it is possible to have full control of the GHP Compact Reactor from wherever you are on the boat. In addition to holding its course in virtually all weather and wind conditions, the system can smoothly perform a variety of pre-programmed trolling and search procedures. Plus, with BlueChart g2 Vision charts (sold separately), the user gains optional features like Auto Guidance2, which automatically steers GPS paths.
The Garmin GHP Compact Reactor supports optional patented Shadow Drive technology. This provides security by knowing that the person at the helm will maintain control even when the autopilot is engaged. The Shadow Drive system automatically disengages the autopilot if the helm is turned, giving the helmsperson freedom to manoeuvre the boat. The autopilot automatically re-engages when a steady course is steered tod again.
The GHP Compact Reactor Autopilot can be operated directly from a large range of compatible Garmin chartplotter screens or by using up to 3 GHC helm control units. The GHC communicates with the autopilot system via the common NMEA 2000 network, so autopilot-heading data can be shared easily with other devices. This enables MARPA and chart overlay when connected to a Garmin radar and chartplotter. An optional handheld wireless remote control is also available.
Note that the system requires a Garmin echoMAP CHIRP 5x/7x/9x chartplotter/sonar combo or GPSMAP 7400/7600/8000/8200/8400/8500/8600 series chartplotter. Please be aware that Auto Guidance is for planning purposes only and does not replace safe navigation operations.
